Our journey began in mid-December of 2017 when Becky was home in Houston for her winter break. On the same night she returned, Reagan (bridesmaid) invited her to a concert, saying, “There are some new guys in my brother's fraternity that I think you would like!” Becky, not particularly fond of frat boys, was skeptical but decided to go as she missed Regan and would be happy to just be with her anyway. At the pre-concert meetup, John first noticed Becky as she was a newcomer to the group. He remembers thinking, “Who is that girl? She’s so hot.” As fate would have it, Becky, Reagan, and a few others, including John and Jon Solomon (best man), piled into a sedan headed for the concert. Throughout the ride, John’s humor had Becky laughing heartily, though she could only see the back of his head.

When they arrived, Solomon introduced Becky to John. The moment was charmingly awkward: Becky blushed, and John greeted her with a friendly, “Hey, nice to meet you.” Becky, feeling shy, avoided eye contact, while John turned back to his conversation with the group.

The concert was filled with emotive melodies and uplifting beats that had the crowd in such good spirits. Before long, John and Becky found themselves dancing together, a rare and spontaneous moment for both. They both had such a great time with each other. As they were leaving the concert, John gave Becky his jacket to keep her warm. As they prepared to part ways, John handed Becky his number, thinking, “I'm probably never going to see that jacket again. This girl is too beautiful, but if she reached out to me first, I know I just might have a chance.”

Their first date was set a week later. Becky was nervous meeting John at RA Sushi. John, equally nervous, spilled his miso soup on himself and the table within the first 10 minutes of the date. Despite the humorous mishap, the date went wonderfully, they both talked for hours getting to know each other while walking around City Center.

The following months were filled with weekend trips between San Marcos and Houston. They both quickly became an integral part of each other's lives, dating the rest of college.

After Becky graduated in May 2020, they moved in together, navigating quarantine life as a couple. In March 2021, John bought their first home, marking the beginning of their life together in a real home.

In December 2021, John proposed to Becky during a cruise with the King family.

Two years later, with Becky completing her Doctorate of Chiropractic and both of them established in their careers, they felt it was the perfect time to get married and have their dream wedding.

From the moment they met at ages 19 and 21, Becky and John were not looking for anything specific, yet something special sparked between them. Their love grew quickly, and they began dating just over a month after meeting, sharing their first “I love you” simultaneously. Now, nearly seven years later, their love has evolved, matured, and deepened. They are committed to continuing their journey with loyalty, honesty, and trust, qualities that have brought them here and will guide them through their marriage.
